100th Post Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Giveaway!

This is my 100th post! I’ve had this blog for almost 2 years now, and I have gotten nothing but love and support from all you readers… “Hi mom!” (at least I think she still reads my blog posts). Okay, so I don’t have a bajilion followers like “Stupid Easy Paleo“. But hey, this is a fun hobby and I appreciate all the support from my readers.  Thank you!!!

And what better way to give back some love than with a giveaway!

It’s no secret that I love coconut oil. And I mean I LOOOOVE it! But no ordinary coconut oil will do. Okay, I’m not a total coconut oil snob. If it’s organic and unrefined, I’m all over it. However, I have to say my favorite brand (and the only brand I now buy) is Tropical Traditions. If you pop on over to their website, they have this wonderful page that explains how they make each type of coconut oil and how they differ.

Tropical Traditions makes 4 different types of coconut oil. 2 of which are refined and therefore don’t smell or taste like coconut oil (in case you don’t like the flavor or smell). However, I love the taste that unrefined coconut oil adds to dishes and baked goods, as well as the added health benefits.

My favorite coconut oil is Tropical Traditions Gold Label Organic Coconut Oil! This stuff is the best! Therefore, that’s just what I’m giving away to one lucky winner!

Gold Label is not only organic but it’s also hand-made (not machine-made), in small batches, using wet-milling and therefore has the highest levels of antioxidants of all the Tropical Traditions coconut oil.  I love it’s smooth (non gritty) texture. But most of all I love knowing that I’m getting a high quality product from a company I trust.

I use Tropical Traditions Gold Label in almost everything I cook/bake. If you don’t believe me…. check out my recipe page. 😉

If you haven’t tried Gold Label, you should! It’s well worth the price.

Tropical Traditions often has sales and free shipping promotions so be sure to check out their page often to find these deals!

(like right now (Sept 14th) they are having a Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil – Buy 2 Get 2 FREE (Pints) sale- ends soon)

They also have this thing called “healthy buyers club“. If you buy a membership you get discounted bulk prices and they often have sales that are only available to members of their “healthy buyers club” (like free shipping). You can find out more information about that by clicking here.

Best of all…  ALL of Tropical Traditions products are committed to being GMO free and meet or exceed USDA standards. They sell everything from lotions and household cleaners to organic meats to… coconut oils!

Why eat coconut oil?

Well, besides the great flavor that coconut oil adds to most any dish/baked good:

  • Coconut oil is high in lauric acid: Lauric acid has antibacterial, antiviral, and antiprotozoal properties. In layman’s terms: it can help fight colds and viruses.
  • Coconut oil can reduce food cravings: When coconut oil is added to your diet it causes you to feel more full and satisfied. In theory, this should help you to not keep eating and eating and eating.
  •  Coconut oil has Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFAs): MCFAs can help increase your metabolism because they are sent directly to the liver and give your body an instant source of energy.

Not sure what to use coconut oil for? Just check out my recipe page full of recipes that include coconut oil. You can also check out Tropical Tradition’s page that explains how to use coconut oil.
