Gluten Free Healthier Valentine Treats

Who needs candy hearts and white sugar filled chocolate when you can make your own healthier treats? Here are some of my favorite sweet treats that are not filled with all that processed sugar and ingredients that are a little too difficult to pronounce.

1.Heart Shaped healthy gummies:

These are perfect for the kiddos but I love them too. These no sugar added gummies are packed with protein too! You will feel like super mom as your kiddos gobble up these valentine treats.

2. Raw Chocolate “Cheesecake” Bites:

These are a fun grain free processed sugar free treat that your kiddos and your special someone will love.

3. Healthier Almond Butter Cups:

If you are a sucker for Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (my weakness) this may be the Valentine’s treat for you! You could also sub out peanut butter for the almond butter if that’s your jam. These almond butter cups passed the deliciousness test, with every family member giving them 5 stars!

4. Homemade chocolate for strawberry dipping or chocolate hearts.

This dark chocolate recipe is very dark so it’s great for dipping strawberries in. If you are not used to extra dark chocolate you may want to add a little raw honey, or maple syrup if you are making the little heart candies. I also like to place macadamia nuts in the middle of the hearts sometimes. This breaks up the strong chocolate flavor. Or I add the hearts to “banana ice cream” as a fun valentine treat for the kids.

If you don’t feel like making your own chocolate,  you can melt down a quality dark chocolate bar for strawberry dipping or heart shape making.

Some of my favorites are:

Enjoy Life Chocolate

AND there are a bajillion amazing healthy chocolates at Thrive Market (including the ones listed above)

5. Valentine Freezer Treats:

I don’t even know what to call these but they are yummy! We made these 4 years ago and I make variations of them from time to time just because. They are a fun and super healthy addition to our Valentine’s day festivities!

6. Peanut Butter Brownie Bars

Last but not least, these brownies are my favorite dessert-hands down. They are time consuming to make but well worth it…. I promise!
