Make it Clean Monday: “Double Chocolate Cakies”

I found this recipe for Double Chocolate Cakies from the blog Multiply Delicious, and I am super excited to see what other recipes Heather has to offer. These were so good I was eating up the batter for a bit before I remembered I should probably bake them if I want any cookies. I used my own recipe for home made “chocolate chips” and home made almond butter in the “cakies”. I also added 1/4 cup of unsweetened coconut (that the recipe didn’t call for)… well, because I love coconut. Otherwise I followed the recipe pretty exact and these “cakies”  turned out am-ma-za-zing!

I think these would be just as good without chocolate chips… but then they wouldn’t be “double chocolate”. And these are made with almond flour. Yep! They are gluten free!

Here is the batter I almost ate up instead of baking. The batter may just be better than the “cakies” themselves… just my opinion. 🙂


I used an ice cream scooper to scoop the batter I had left onto a pan lined with parchment paper.


And here are the finished cookies! My daughter says these are better than my brownies. Now that’s a compliment from a girl who loves brownies.

    Those cookies look great! I have been on my clean eating lifestyle for only a week and I feel 100 percent better! I admit that I get bored from time to time and I don’t want to give up on any of this! Now I have some place to go to try out new recipes! Thank you for this post!!

      I love eating clean a well because of how I feel when I do it. I am always reminded why I eat this way when I eat something with ingredients I can’t pronounce and feel like junk afterwards. Having new recipes is key! I love trying out new things. While I could live on eggs and steel cut oats every morning, I love to switch up dinners and desserts. IF I couldn’t have sweet treats sometimes I don’t know what I would do. I am so excited when I find new dessert recipes or come up with something new. Let me know what you think if you try these.
