My New Favorite Protein Powder

I’ve changed protein powders! I had a favorite brand that I found a while back. I did a LOT of research and felt like it was one of the best sources for whey protein I could find. It’s made from pasture-fed cows’ whey plus it’s GMO-free and grown without pesticides. They also claim to not contain dangerous levels of heavy metals like mercury, lead, cadmium, and arsenic. I was happy to find a whey protein with only 2 ingredients: whey protein concentrate and sunflower lecithin.

When I first was incorporating protein powder into my routine I was so thrilled to find a protein powder that didn’t have a ton of extra ingredients that this soon became my go to powder. I wouldn’t use any other. I still consider it to be a quality protein powder.

HOWEVER, I have just found a new favorite protein powder!

Now that people are making their voices heard, companies are producing higher quality proteins. Well, I’ve found a one ingredient whey protein, that is also less expensive (per ounce) than my old favorite powder.

It’s called “Raw Grass Fed Whey”  and it’s on Amazon! Of course… everything is right?

No fancy name needed because that’s just what it is, raw grass fed whey protein.

Grass Fed Whey Protein Powder

Raw Grass Fed Whey is:

  • 100% pure grass fed whey
  • from cows that graze on open pastures year round
  • sourced 100% from U.S. sustainable farms
  • rBGH/rBST hormone free
  • processed at low temperatures
  • processed without acid or bleach
  • gluten free
  • GMO free
  • soy free
  • no added sweeteners, preservatives or fillers & NO SOY lecithin
  • made with just 1 ingredient
  • has 21g of protein per serving with only 2 g of carbohydrates

I love this stuff. It’s just whey protein concentrate… nothing else.

Now, it’s not going to be like a wonderful dreamy milkshake when mixed with just plain filtered water. A lot of other brands of protein powders have emulsifiers (like soy lecithin: click here to read up on why I avoid soy lecithin), sweeteners, preservatives, and just plain junk added to “add to the flavor and texture”. However, if you dress up your own shake or food you can choose what you put into your shakes or dishes. You can make great tasting shakes and protein bars without all the added junk.

For my post workout shakes, I like to add a little liquid stevia if I’m not adding fruit (you could also add raw unfiltered honey if you prefer). When using fruit I prefer banana, strawberries and raspberries. Yum! If you blend it all up it tastes great and it’s a perfect post workout snack to fuel your body quickly. It’s also great if you are on the go and don’t have time to make a snack during the day.

I use this protein powder in:

I don’t like to use many supplements so when I do supplement a snack with a shake, I like to make sure it’s from a good source. This is a protein powder I can stand behind. It’s good stuff!
