Only In Minnesota

Only in Minnesota is it sunny and high 50s today while tomorrow we are expecting a snow storm. Blah! Well, I will take the sunshine while I can.

Today the kiddos and I took our workout outdoors. I put off homeschooling for a couple hours as we took a sunshine break.

I ran sprints and did plyo lunges and squats for the first 30 minutes while my kiddos ran with me, rode their bikes and played with chalk.

Then I did a 10 minute abdominal circuit followed by static stretching.

Workouts don’t have to be long (especially if they are high intensity) and they don’t have to be at a gym. I love body weight circuit cardio workouts on days that I want to fit my workout into a busy schedule.

Outdoor Workout

Here are some other ways I fit in workouts and healthy eating into a busy lifestyle.

You are amazing! You are pretty motivated and creative to have an exercise routine to do while your kiddos are playing outside. That is awesome! I work out too…I am usually carrying a baby or holding a baby! That counts as back, shoulders, and biceps, right? I like your breakdown of exercises to do for an outdoor workout. I may try it on a warm sunny day. I may take those moves and incorporate it into my day. It sounds like you enjoyed the day with the kids. Fun! My kids played outside after school and I fed them Bento Lunchables on the deck. That was fun 🙂 Thanks for a great post. Blessings.

Crazy how we have like a foot of snow today (2 days after this post). I’m glad you got outside with your kiddos. Lunch on the deck sounds glorious right now. ha! Like I said though, my kiddos are getting older and this working out with them around has become easier than when they were babies. I remember having my littlest in a moby wrap while just getting through the day was an accomplishment. And yes it’s a great back/shoulders/biceps workout. haha. I was always happy to even get a walk in during baby days. 🙂
