Healthier Easter Basket Ideas
Ever since my kiddos were little, we have made candy free Easter baskets filled with fun items or made we’ve some healthier snack/candy swaps. It helps that we started young so my kiddos were super young and didn’t know any different. I think it would be much harder to make a “switch” if they had only known the typical candy filled baskets and then I was like “SURPRISE! Here are some oranges and a bible! He is risen!” My hubby has memories of “that one Easter” when he got fruit. I do believe it’s possible to make some changes if the changes are fun enough.
Now I have an 11 and 13 year old and we still do baskets but they are much more low key. I don’t know if I will ever stop doing baskets just because I usually carry on traditions till my kids/teens beg me to stop. And who doesn’t like free stuff. They always look forward to our Easter traditions. So they will probably get a basket untill they move out of the house. Heck, maybe they will get Easter care packages when they do move out. I have fond memories of getting Easter care packages from my roomates Aunt who used to mail us all goodies over each holiday. Her Aunt was the best!
Whether you have gone the healthy/toy route all along or you are just now making some swaps, here are some fun Easter basket ideas that your kiddos may enjoy:
