Easy and Inexpensive DIY Makeup Remover

Don’t want to spend a ton of money on expensive makeup removers? Many make up removers have some pretty junky ingredients that I don’t want on my skin or near my eyes.
Check out this super easy DIY makeup remover recipe. It has 2 ingredients so this recipe could not be any more simple. You can also switch out oils if you have a favorite oil on hand like Jojoba Oil or Fractionated Coconut Oil. I prefer avocado oil since it’s great for acne prone skin (which I have).

Ingredients:

*1/4 cup avocado oil (or oil of your choice)

*1/4 cup of witch hazel

Directions:

  1. Use a small funnel to pour your oil and witch hazel into a glass container. I love these amber glasses with a pump. It makes it easy for application and the amber bottle keeps light out so that your oil doesn’t go rancid.
  2. Close up your bottle and shake.

That’s it! You will want to shake up your bottle every time you use it. I shake up my bottle and pump some onto a couple of organic cotton rounds to remover my makeup. It works wonderfully!

Avocado oil has a shelf life of 12 months. As I said before, it’s great for acne prone skin. You may want to avoid using coconut oil if you get breakouts easily. I also love avocado oil because it has vitamin E and other antioxidants.

There you have it! Easy and inexpensive DIY makeup remover.

If you don’t have the time or energy to make your own products… you could try Beautycounter’s Instant Eye Makeup Remover or their One Step Makeup Remover Wipes. I love Beatycounter due to their advocacy for safer beauty products. Plus they have a huge “Never List” of yucky ingredients they will never put in their products.
