Zesty Salad Dressing

I have always detested the taste salad dressing. Since I was a child I ate my salads with lots of tomatoes if my parents made me eat a salad. I then started putting fun toppings like fruit and nuts on top of my salads as I got older. Then as an adult I grew to love salsa on my turkey meatball salads as I started meal prepping more.

I really have never tried to find a salad dressing that I like because the store bought stuff is often full of junk (soybean oil, emulsifiers, sugar and preservatives) and the thought of making my own dressing seemed tedious.

Recently however, I have been looking up healthy salad dressing recipes for my husband and my kiddos since my son LOVES ranch dressing (bleck!) and my husband loves most any salad dressing. I saw a few blogs where people liked plain apple cider vinegar (ACV) on their salad. I took it a few steps further and figured out this ratio of simple ingredients. It’s a bit too strong for my hubby’s taste and my kiddos can’t stand the smell of ACV so this is one that I alone enjoy. But now I don’t have to worry about the family eating up my new favorite salad topping. I think I like it most because it’s not all oily (one reason salad dressing never sat really well with me) and I also love mustard (a key ingredient to this recipe).

If you aren’t sure about the combo maybe try a small batch (like I did the first few times I made it). If you like it as much as I do, then make a larger batch. The best thing about this dressing is that it’s just 3 simple quality ingredients plus nd a touch of sea salt to taste.

Here is how I make my new simple Zesty Salad Dressing:

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Put all your ingredients (ACV, spicy brown mustard, and coconut aminos) in a mason jar or a glass salad dressing shaker.
  2. Put a lid on it and shake it up to mix.
  3. Add sea salt to taste and shake.
  4. Store in the fridge and use as needed.

I hope you enjoy this zesty dressing as much as I do.
